Carlmont High School
The Carlmont girls volleyball team beat Menlo-Atherton 25-15, 25-10, 18-25, 25-13 in a PAL-Bay match in Belmont Thursday. The Scots improve to 19-2, 7-1 while the Bears fall to 5-11, 3-5. The Scots JV team (13-8, 6-2) also won, 25-17, 21-25, 15-4. Carlmontâs Freshman team (12-3, 5-2) started the evening out right for the Scots, rallying from a 13-10 deficit in the final set to win 25-20, 18-25, 15-13.
Carlmont senior Maya McClellan had 11 kills, 13 digs, two aces and a block, and her sophomore sister Morgan added seven kills, six aces, seven digs and two blocks. Senior Sophie Srivastava had 28 assists, eight digs, two blocks, two kills and an ace; and classmate Tai Mei Chang added 10 digs and four aces. Sophomore Alisha Mitha had six kills, four blocks and a dig; and senior Emma Vanoncini hit .429 with three kills, three digs, three blocks and an ace. Sophomore Catherine Dahlberg posted five blocks and three kills, and freshman Jules Tan had four digs.
Carlmont returns to action Tuesday, hosting Half Moon Bay in a PAL-Bay matchup. The Freshman match is scheduled for 4:00, with JV and varsity to follow (varsity starts around 6:30).
