Game Recap

The Carlmont girls volleyball team beat Half Moon Bay 25-16, 25-14, 25-23 in a PAL-Bay match in Belmont Tuesday. The Scots improve to 20-2, 8-1 while the Cougars fall to 5-15, 0-9. The Scots JV team (17-9, 7-2) posted a sweep, 25-13, 25-17, and Carlmont’s Freshman team (15-5, 6-2) also won, 25-7, 25-13.

Carlmont sophomore Morgan McClellan hit .692 with nine kills and two digs, and senior Sophie Srivastava had 25 assists, five digs, four blocks and two kills. Sophomore Catherine Dahlberg hit .571 with five kills and three blocks, senior Maya McClellan hit .667 with four kills and three digs, and senior Tai Mei Chang added eight digs and an ace. Junior Katie Wong, senior Emma Vanoncini and freshman Jules Tan had a pair of aces apiece, and Wong added six digs and seven assists. Junior Clara Vltavsky added six kills and three digs, and junior Tiara Testa had three kills, two digs and an ace.

Carlmont returns to action Thursday, traveling to San Mateo for another PAL-Bay match. The Freshman match is scheduled for 4:00, with JV and varsity to follow (varsity starts around 6:30).
