Carlmont Boys Lacrosse 2019 season
New players welcome! Lacrosse is a fast-paced, generally high-scoring and high thrills game. Most Carlmont lacrosse players have NOT played lacrosse prior to high school, so come learn with everyone else!
The Carlmont lacrosse season will begin with tryouts starting on Monday, Jan. 31. Athletic clearance must be in place prior to trying out. We carry up to 50 total players across two teams: Freshman/Sophomore and Varsity. If more than 50 players try out, there will be cuts.
If you are playing a winter sport, you can try out for lacrosse after your season concludes but you must register for lacrosse through the Carlmont Athletics clearance system by Jan. 31 to indicate your interest.
We will start practice on Monday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 pm with equipment check out at the locker room under the administration building.
Practices are generally from 7:15-9:15 pm on Monday through Friday. However, during February when the field is being shared with winter sports still, practices are not consistent. So we practice whenever we can secure the field.
Since Feb. field time is limited, we will also have required practices every Saturday in Feb. Time is 8:30-10:00 am.
Carlmont provides helmets to each player during the season. Players are responsible for bringing their own stick, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder/chest protection, cup and mouth guard. We do have limited loaner equipment available, so do not let lack of personal equipment be a reason not to try out.
Important: if you are interested in trying lacrosse before tryouts, we have open field times each Saturday in January from 8:30 to 10:00 am. While there isn’t any coaching allowed, coaches supervise for safety, and fellow students play pickup games.
