Important Carlmont Sports Information

  1. Please see the link to athletics on the Carlmont High School Web-site, this will take you to the Carlmont Athletics Web – Site. (https://carlmontathletics.org/)  Information will be posted there regarding tryout dates for Season 1 and Season 2 sports for this year.   The on-line athletic clearance site and other pertinent information will also be posted here.  Each sport has their own page where information will be posted.  

 

  1. Sports Clearance should be done on-line at: https://sportsnethost.com/carlmont/index.php?page=sign-in.  Information is posted under the more tab on the Carlmont Athletics Web-Site. The process must be completed at least a week in advance of the beginning of tryouts so it can be processed and student-athletes can be cleared by administration. No person will be allowed to tryout for a team unless they have been cleared via the sports net web-site.

 

  1. Season 1 Sports:  The start date for Season 1 sports is listed above.  Parents need to complete the registration via sports net.  Tryout dates and times will be communicated via school announcements, coach emails and the athletics web-site.  Pre-season information meetings for various teams may be held via zoom or in person if allowed.

Season 2 Sports:   The start dates for Season 2 sports are listed above.  Parents need to complete the registration via sports net.  Tryout dates and times will be communicated via school announcements, coach emails and the athletics web-site.  Pre-season information meetings for various teams may be held via zoom or in person if allowed.

 

  1. Parent/Coach Informational Meeting – Our first sports informational meeting of the year was held on August 11.  The power point from that presentation is available on the Carlmont Athletics website at this link: August 11 Athletics Information Power PointA recording of the informational meeting held on August 11 is also available on the Carlmont Athletics website at this link:  August 11 Athletics Information WebinarSports informational meetings will be held at the beginning of each season after the teams have been established.  Meetings will be held in the main gym starting at 7:00 pm, if allowed, otherwise they will be held via zoom.

 

  1. Athletic Eligibility – Athletes must have a minimum 2.0 unweighted GPA, be enrolled in a minimum of 25 credits and pass a minimum of 20 credits for each grading period to be eligible for athletic participation.  Students gain or lose eligibility at noon the day after grades are posted. 

 

  1. Athletic Credit – Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior student-athletes will earn a Credit or No Credit Grade and 3.5 elective credits for each season of sport they participate in.  Sophomore, Junior and Senior student-athletes will have 3.5 PE credits waived per sport they complete.  A student will not receive athletic credit if they are ruled academically ineligible during the season or if they are removed from a team.

Winter Sports – The start date for Winter Sports is typically in late October or early November.   It is very common to have conditioning for these sports starting a month or two prior to the official start date.  Students will be informed about sign up meetings via school announcements, school bulletins, athletic web-site and posted flyers.
