Game Recap

Carlmont High School beat Mercy SF in an exciting game that led to double overtime on Friday night. The Scots led 13-10 at halftime but Mercy came back strong in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Kaylee George hit a 3 pointer with seconds left on the clock to tie the game and send it to overtime. After 4 minutes in overtime, the score was still tied. The Scots pulled away in the 2nd overtime with contributions from multiple team members and a final score of 45-38. The Scots leading scorers were Isabella Rodriguez with 11 points, Grace Heck with 8 points, Aliya Ynes with 5 points, Kaylee George with 9 points, and Kaila Nishikawa with 12 points.

Carlmont Freshmen Boys Basketball fought back against a Sacred Heart Prep, but fell short 35-30. In a tough defensive battle where the Scots were down 5 at half, the Gators extended their lead to 9 when the 3rd quarter ended. It was the Scots turn to play tight defense and closed the gap to 2 points, unfortunately Sacred Heart had the final answer to preserve their victory. Scots were paced by: Zach Burgos 11pts; Karan Gaglani 7 pts; Jett Blos 3pts; and Bailey Wong 3pts.

The Lady Scots JV Soccer Team came up short in their regular season home depot vs. Menlo Atherton on Thursday. A first half goal outside the 18 was too much to overcome. The Lady Scots stepped up the pressure in the attacking 1/3rd in the second half but were not able to capitalize.

Game Recap

The Lady Scots JV Soccer Team opened the regular season with a win at Aragon on Tuesday. It is always difficult to play the first game after coming back from the winter break but the Lady Scots did enough to claim victory 1-0. Carlmont scored at the end of the first half with a shot 18 yards out from right midfielder Kaylee Leong. Carlmont GK Cate Armstrong and the backline comprised of center backs Isabella Ravaglia, Samantha Owyang, and outside backs Brooke Chang, Kristin Chen, and Katie Snider with support from the midfield held to close out the victory.

Game Recap

Carlmont girls played well against MA, scoring 3 goals in the first half and two goals in the second half.

Kayla Fong had the first two goals of the game with assists from Isabelle de Wood and Lauren Morris respectively. The third goal of the game was scored by Jessica Sanders and assisted by Kayla Fong. Near the end of the first half MA responded and scored on the Scots. MA then started to push hard and had several scoring opportunities, including an open goal where the ball was cleared on the goal line by center back Emma Castro.

In the second half, Carlmont pushed to score a fourth goal scored once again by Jessica Sanders and assisted by Kayla Fong. MA responded by scoring a second goal. The Scots kept up the pressure and scored a fifth goal, scored by Tori Linnell and assisted by Lauren Morris.

Carlmont Scots are 2-4-2 overall with a PAL league record of 1-0-1.

Carlmont Junior Varsity Boys soccer opened up their league with an emphatic 3-0 win at home vs Burlingame High School. The Scots opened up with a goal from Freshman captain Muaath Nofal. Sophomore Ethan Hoskins quickly followed with another goal before the half. The second half saw both teams with fair amounts of possession. Ethan Hoskins nodded home the third goal of the match to ensure the victory. The Scots continue the season on the road Friday at Aragon High School. Go Scots!

Game Recap

The regular season started of with a hard fought win for the JV Scots. In a defensive battle that was tied at 13 at halftime the Scots used a big third quarter to take the lead. Only allowing 9 points in the fourth quarter, the Scots were able to hold on for the victory. The Scots were led in scoring by Kazim Haider hitting all of his free throws to seal the game with a total of 8 points and Grant Acker with 6. Next for the boys is a game on Friday at Woodside.
