Carlmont Highlights: The Carlmont bats were relentless, putting up crooked numbers in all five innings of this 10-run rule victory. For 2 innings San Marin kept it close, taking the lead twice until the Scots’ third pitcher, Nick Rogers, entered the game to put the kibosh on any more Mustang runs. Rogers threw the final 3.1 innings, allowing just one hit, to earn his first win of the season. Carlmont took the lead for good with a 4-run 2nd inning highlighted by an RBI double from Ryan Busser and a 2-run single from Tyler DeSmidt. Already with a comfortable 14-7 lead, the Scots ended the game early with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th with 2 home runs. Ben Fong led off the inning and on the ninth pitch of his at-bat, he launched a high fly over the left field fence. After 2 outs, Aiden Woodring walked and scored when Jake Robinson crushed a home run, also to left field, to end the game. Besides Robinson (4AB, 2R, 2H, 3RBI, HR, 2B), big numbers were put up by Sean Vanderaa (4AB, 3R, 3H, RBI, 2B), David Bedrosian (4AB, 2R, 2H, RBI), Busser (2AB, 2R, 2H, 2B), DeSmidt (3AB, 2R, 2H, 3RBI) and Mateos Melkesian (3AB, R, 2H, 2RBI). Both Adam Cross and Daniel Friis also smacked doubles in the game.
