Carlmont Highlights: After a second-place finish last year, the Carlmont Scots are once again champions of the PAL Bay League, their 6th championship in the last 7 years. The team needed a series sweep to control their destiny, and they made an instant impact in the top of the 1st with 3 runs. Tyler DeSmidt ignited the rally with a towering double to deep right field, driving in David Bedrosian (FC) who raced all the way from 1st base. On the next pitch Jake Robinson smashed a single up the middle, putting runners at the corners. Daniel Friis followed that with a long double to center that scored both DeSmidt and Robinson. Four runs were tallied in the 6th with a combination of hits, walks and Terra Nova errors. RBI singles were delivered by Logan Snow and Sean Vanderaa. Starting and winning pitcher Aiden Woodring held the Tigers hitless for 5.1 innings. The 2 runs he was responsible for were both unearned, as he allowed just the one single, 3 walks, a HB and 3 strikeouts. Bedrosian pitched the 7th giving up one hit and one walk, and he was aided by the Scots turning their second double play of the game.
