Carlmont Highlights: There’s always the danger of a big 1st inning and trying to live up to its expectations for the rest of the game, and the Scots can attest to it with one that almost got away. Jordan Brandenburg (3 for 4, 3 RBI) drove in the first 2 runs of the contest in a 5-run 1st inning and came through in the bottom of the 7th inning with the game-winning single to left to drive in Zane VanArsdel. Brandenburg was also the starting pitcher and threw the first 5.1 innings, giving up 4 runs, 2 earned, 2 walks and striking out 5. He left with the possibility of still being the winning pitcher, but the persistent Tigers from Terra Nova were able to tie the score 6-6 with a run in the top of the 7th off reliever, Will Klieves. VanArsdel (1 for 3, 2 runs, BB) led off the the bottom of the 7th with a walk and a wild pitch sent him to 2nd base. After an out, Brandenburg stepped up and delivered the decisive hit to let the Scots come away with the win. Klieves picked up his second league win in less than a week, throwing the final 1.2 innings, allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Also in the game, Aaron Hoch was 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Taylor Douglis was 1 for 2 with a RBI
