Carlmont Highlights: The tying run was left at 3rd base in the top of the 7th inning in this tightly contested CCS quarterfinal game. Throwing the first 5.1 innings, starting pitcher David Bedrosian suffered the loss, giving up 5 runs, 3 earned, on 7 hits, 3 walks and a hit batter; he struck out 2. Carlmont pulled ahead with 3 runs in the 1st. Sean Vanderaa’s 2-out single brought in Jasper Loo (BB) and Logan Snow (BB), and Daniel Friis (BB) dashed home on an errant throw from the Leland catcher. Their fourth run came in the 5th when Jack Vanoncini (3AB, 2H, RBI) singled to center to drive in J.P. Avila who 2 batters previously provided the only extra-base hit of the game for either side, a double down the left field line. It was Avila (3AB, R, 2H, 2B) who was left at 3rd base in the 7th. Unfortunately, the Scots stranded runners in every inning for a total of 12 runners left on base. Friis was 1 for 3 and both Vanderaa and Bedrosian delivered 2 hits apiece in the game.

Carlmont Final Record: 17-11, 10-4
