Carlmont Highlights: Controversy and consternation complicated this contentious contest with the Scots winding up on the short side of the score. Finding themselves down by 7 going into the bottom of the 4th, the team responded with leadoff back-to-back doubles by Tyler DeSmidt and Logan Snow. A groundout to 2nd by Jake Robinson brought in Carlmont’s first run, sending Snow to 3rd. Aiden Woodring then walked. Catcher Daniel Friis hit a ball to short and was seemingly safe on a throwing error when he was called out by the base umpire, citing that the Carlmont bench was guilty of verbal interference. After 2 coach ejections, play resumed and the Scots determinedly put 4 more runs on the board, including an RBI single by Jack Vanoncini and a 2-run single by Sean Vanderaa, getting the Scots within 2 runs. The back and forth run production continued through the next couple of innings, but Menlo never lost the lead. Starting pitcher David Bedrosian (2+IP, 5R, 5ER, 4H, 4BB! 2K) took the loss and was relieved by Nick Rogers in the 3rd inning. He was followed by Woodring and then Gabe Ramirez. Robinson collected a second RBI with a sac fly in the 4th. DeSmidt hit a second double, driving in a run in the 6th, Snow finished 3 for 4 and Kevin Shea hit 2 singles and scored twice.

Carlmont Record: 9-7, 4-2
