The Carlmont Scots played their final non-league game and came away with a hard-fought win, 48-45.

Carlmont led throughout the game, taking a 29-21 lead into halftime. The lead grew to nine after three quarters, 39-30

The Falcons made a strong run, aided by some turnovers and missed free throws from the Scots. At one point Carlmont missed five straight free throws in the period top help fuel the Falcons’ run.

Scotts Valley cut the lead to one with just under two minutes to play. Carlmont got fouled again on two occasions and made their last four free throws. The Falcons scored a late basket, at the buzzer, giving Carlmont a final margin of victory of three points.

Erica Mendiola led the Scots with 13 points. She was matched by the Falcons’ Kaitlin Imai. The win gives Carlmont a 10-2 record in non-league play. The Scots are riding a seven game winning streak heading into PAL league action.
