The Carlmont Scots hosted Notre Dame San Jose and came away with a 46-32 victory that was much tougher than the score would indicate. The Regents played the Scots tough, as Carlmont led 21-14 at the half.

The Scots’ lead was whittled to four after three quarters, 28-24. Carlmont pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Notre Dame 18-8 in the final period, as Erica Mendiola scored 12 of her game-high 24 points. Mendiola’s 24 points, a season high, included
10-12 from the free throw line. Alyanna Olavarria led Notre Dame with nine points.

Carlmont earned the win with strong work on the boards. out rebounding the Regents
44-29. Maliyah Murphy grabbed 12 rebounds, Joslyn Moore also had 11 boards, including
six on the offensive glass.

The win boosts Carlmont’s non-league record to 9-2, with one more contest to play, prior to league play.
