The JV Girls soccer team suffered their first loss yesterday against Burlingame. Burlingame scored at around the 20th minute, put a high ball in the upper left corner of our goal. The JV girls fought hard to recover and make up the goal differential, but to no avail. Their second half was much better then their first, as they were passing to feet more and playing possession instead of long ball, and so we dominated the 2nd half, but again, couldn’t put the ball in the net. Cali Shohet (9th) had some good attacks taking the ball up the right sideline and getting off crosses. Sabrina Jackson (10th) played exceptionally well as a center defender, shutting down attacks from Burlingame with her patience one-on-one and her speed. Karina Estacuy and Kaliya Mah also exhibited great patience and decision making on defense, and Kaylee Dartnell helped keep composure and quick decision making in the midfield.
