The Aragon Dons clinched the PAL South title with a 47-33 victory over Carlmont. Aragon employed their pressure defense, creating turnovers, which enabled the Dons to get several easy baskets in the early going.

In addition to forcing turnovers, Aragon dominated the offensive boards and took a comfortable 25-12 lead into halftime. Carlmont rallied in the second half to cut the lead to nine points with roughly three minutes left in the game.

Carlmont was forced to foul as time was running short. Aragon foiled that strategy as the Dons converted six of seven from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

Carlmont junior guard led all scorers with 13 points. Aragon had a balanced attack, led by Lala Lautaimi, who scored nine points. Lydia Manu added eight more for the Dons.

Aragon improved their record to 15-8 overall and 10-1 in league play. Carlmont drops to 14-9 overall and 4-7 in the PAL.
