Palo Alto won a hotly contested, intense game over Carlmont 44-35. The first half went back and forth, with the lead changing several times.

The Vikings took a 21-17 lead into the half, but it was a decisive run in the third quarter that made the difference. Palo Alto outscored Carlmont 16-7 in the quarter to take a 37-24 lead into the fourth quarter.

Carlmont battled back to within six points, but could get no closer, as Palo Alto was able to hold on for the victory. Vikings’ guard Annika Shah scored from everywhere, leading the way with a game-high 28 points. The Scots tried multiple defender on Shah, but she was up to the task.

Ellie Jeffries added nine for the Vikings. Carlmont was led by Evelyn Gordi’s 16 points.
The loss drops Carlmont’s record to 9-3 overall, while the Vikings improve to 9-2.
