The Sequoia Cherokees continued their hot play this week. After defeating previously unbeaten Menlo-Atherton on Wednesday, Sequoia traveled to Carlmont to face the Scots, who came into the game in third place in the PAL.

It was Senior Night at Carlmont and the two teams battled to an even first half at 21 all.
Sequoia outscored Carlmont 9-2 in the third quarter, as the Scots missed several open shots.

Although Carlmont tried to rally in the fourth quarter and outscored Sequoia 8-6 in the period, it was not enough as Sequoia earned a tough 36-31 victory. The free throw line doomed Carlmont as the Scots went 3-15 from the line.

Junior, Ashley Trierweiler, led Carlmont with 12 points and Erica Mendiola added nine.
Sequoia was led by Jada Herbert with nine and Soana Afu with eight.

The win moves Sequoia into a tie with Carlmont for third place in the PAL, with both teams at 8-3. Carlmont is 18-5 overall and Sequoia 17-6.
