With an outstanding performance across the board, the Carlmont Lady Scots won the Large Schools Varsity Girls race at the Clovis Invitational on Saturday, October 6th. Their team score of 108 was the best of 32 schools in the race, 15 points ahead of second place Clovis West. Kaimei Gescuk covered the 5000 meter course in a personal best 18:35.6 to finish in 4th place. For the second consecutive week, she ran the fastest time of the day by a CCS female. Kaimei was followed by Allie Ayers (19:23.8, 15th ), Mandy Hitchcock (19:36.0 PR, 23rd ), Sabrina Jackson (19:38.6, 25th), Samantha Turtle (20:13.9 PR, 52nd ), Maya Blodgett (20:29.7, 68th) and Jasmine Cassidy (20:54.3, 90th). Their team time of 97:28 for the first 5 was the 18th fastest overall and 2:13 faster than the 99:41 they ran in the Stanford Invitational.
