Carlmont played a great game against Menlo Atherton, with great possession and ball movement. The Scots had 18 shots on MA, lead by center midfielder Angela Grundig who alone had five shots.
The first goal was scored about 10 minutes into the game. Rachel Matatyaou won a great 50/50 challenge in the center of the field. She passed it up to Alexis Eliopoulos, who did a quick turn sending the ball out wide to Samantha Phan. Samantha dribbled to the goal line and got a cross off to Samantha Tolu who finished the volley for the goal.
The second goal was scored by Kaija Villagrand. The team got the ball to Kaija who did a quick turn to goal, beat two players and scored. Kaija’s goal was a great example of her strength on the ball.
Allison Uozumi played a fabulous defensive game marking one of the best PAL players on the MA team, not allowing her to score the entire game.
